Wheat cDNA Library Naming Conventions at Albany

Each cDNA libarary will be given a two-letter prefix for genus/species (or other notation as needed) followed by a three-digit number. The three-digit number is given consecutively irrespective of source of composition. For example, TA001 is a library made from T. aestivum, TM005 is a library from T. monococcum and SC010 is a library from Secale cereale.

Each library will be given a three-alphanumeric suffix to indicate type and version of the library, i.e., L=lambda, E=excision, S=subtraction, N=normalization. First character is a letter. X's are placeholders of no other information is needed. For example, TA001LXX=original lambda library, TA001E1X=first excision plasmid library, TA001E2N=normalized library from a second excision of the original lambda library.

This does not cover ALL possibilities, but should cover MOST. Exceptions to be covered by additional naming protocols as needed, or comments associated with existing data.
