As sequences are entered into the database, links will be provided to view trace files. The preferred file format for this Applet program is SCF v.3; however, SCF v.2 and ABI files may also be read. A browser equivalent or better than Netscape 4.05 is required.

Links to Tracefile Data for Genbank Accessions

There are several ways to get tracefile data:

The primary source for data is at the NSF wheat EST project site. The processed and original raw FASTA and QUALITY have always been available from the NSF web site located at the sites:

Shiaoman Chao, curator for the NSF project, has done an especially good job of annotating and collecting the files by libraries. There are also several introductory pages for the EST information located at:

The secondary source is the GrainGenes database. All of the paths to the tracefiles are available through GrainGenes by either the download paths or tracefile viewer. A query to GrainGenes would yield the list that is provided here as a list of accesions that have been deposited at Genbank (accURL.txt). With this list you could at least download directly from the provided list using a web batch downloader or robot program.
