1   BYDV data are from 2 reps of IL-PAV inoculated hills, 0 = no symptoms, 9 = very severe.
2 Hill plots of 10 seeds/hill seeded 30 cm apart in a grid, 3 hills/entry with center hill as control and 2 hills
inoculated with 15-20 R. padi viruliferous with CYDV and BYDV. Two blocks, so means are the average
of 4 inoculated hill plots. Cups were placed over control hills just prior to inoculation. Cups were removed
and aphids were destroyed with Dimethoate at 5 d after infestation.
3 Percent Infection, artificially inoculated with a composite collection.
