FRONT COVER DIAGRAM
With the discovery by Kramer, Veyl and Hanson (1954) of the association
of linkage groups III and VII as one chromosome, a seventh linkage group
was designated. This linkage group became designated as chromosome 6 as
a result of linkage associations between translocation stocks and an early
maturing mutant ec by Ramage and Suneson (1958).
The first map of chromosome 6(A) was published in Barley Genetics I
(1963) showing locations of translocations and four loci. Robertson also
published a map of chromosome 6(B) in Barley Genetics I (1963) with associations
of 9 loci.
The present map of chromosome 6(C) is from this volume of Barley Genetics
Newsletter (Tsuchiya, 1979). |
