First Announcement
2005 BARLEY IMPROVEMENT CONFERENCE
January 12, 2005
The American Malting Barley Association is pleased to announce plans for the 35th Barley Improvement Conference to be held at the historic Mills House Hotel, 115 Meeting Street, Charleston, South Carolina.

The Barley Improvement Conference provides barley researchers, barley producers, and malting, brewing, and grain trade personnel the opportunity to hear reports on the status of barley research programs and to meet and exchange information and ideas.  The first Barley Improvement Conference was held in Milwaukee in 1946 and was sponsored by the Malt Research Institute and the Midwest Barley Improvement Association.  Subsequent conferences continued to be sponsored by the malting and brewing industry’s malting barley trade associations.  The last three conferences were jointly sponsored with barley grower organizations, who will again serve as co-sponsors of the 2005 event.
