| Graduate Research Assistant Position Available
A Graduate Research Assistant Position is available to work on a USA-AID-INSORMIL collaborative project with scientists in Africa and Central America. The project seeks to use molecular, physiological, and plant breeding tools to combine a recessive trait in sorghum conferring higher grain nutritional value with resistance to Fusarium and Curvularia associated grain mold. The project will entail some travel and interaction with collaborating scientists and farmers in Africa and Central America for meetings, and research. National and international conference meetings will also be supported. Candidates with a bachelors or masters degree in biology, botany biochemistry, agronomy, plant breeding, plant pathology or related field are encouraged to apply. Skills in molecular biology, physiology and biochemistry are important considerations. A highly motivated hard working team player is an absolute requirement for this position.
