A CPBR funded postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology, headed by Dr. Fredy Altpeter (http://agronomy.ifas.ufl.edu/Altpeter.HTML). Our research integrates functional genomics and efficient genetic transformation protocols for commercially important cereals and grasses for the dissection and engineering of molecular components of stress tolerance.

Job Description: The selected candidate will focus on genomics of drought tolerance in grasses, involving stable over-expression of drought inducible transcription factors in transgenic grasses, molecular and phenotypic characterization of transgenic grasses under controlled abiotic stress conditions.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will be a highly motivated Ph.D with an established publication record who has ability to conduct independent research in plant molecular biology. The candidate must have solid hands-on experience in a wide range of molecular biology and stress physiology protocols. Experience of working in a team, as well as an ability to work independently, is essential.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with training and experience. This position comes with fringe benefits.
