Full Description: A postdoctoral position is available in the area of polyploid genome evolution in the Division of Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri. The main focus of the project will be directed at changes in genome structure and gene expression immediately after polyploidy formation in resynthesized Brassica allopolyploids. We are particularly interested in PhD level scientists who will interact with other labs in a collaborative NSF Plant Genome project on the functional genomics of polyploidy (http://polyploid.agronomy.wisc.edu/index.html). A Ph.D. in plant biology, molecular biology, evolution, genetics, or related fields is highly desirable. Ideal candidates should have experience with a range of molecular biology techniques and some statistical background. The University of Missouri offers excellent opportunities in Plant Biology through the MU Interdisciplinary Plant Group (http://www.plantgroup.org) |
