| Position Announcement:
A post-doctoral research associate position is available immediately to work on rice transformation, in collaboration with Dr. Oliver Yu, Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis and Dr. Yulin Jia, Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center, Stuttgart. Candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Plant Science, Botany, Biology or a related discipline and be considering a career at a predominantly undergraduate minority institution. Prior experience with tissue culture, transformation and molecular biology is desired. Responsibilities include development of regeneration and transformation systems, genetic engineering of relevant genes and molecular characterization of transgenic lines. The successful candidate must be able to independently design and conduct experiments and willing to work on other projects in the laboratory. Salary for the 12-month non-tenure track position is $32,000 plus the package of fringe benefits and annual leave as allowed by the university. Funding is available for three years.
