Research Associate, W0007478, initial appointment will be one year, renewable upon satisfactory progress and continued funding.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will include molecular mapping, functional genomics and molecular marker-assisted selection of important wheat traits for biotic and abiotic resistance.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have a Ph. D degree in Plant Molecular Genetics or related field with a strong background in plant molecular genetics, functional genomics, molecular breeding, or bioinformatics, and a strong publication record. Experience with molecular biology techniques is necessary. Experience in wheat stress related research and high throughput marker analysis is a plus. The successful candidate must work independently with a strong commitment towards goals. Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work well in a team- based/collaborative research atmosphere are essential.

$26,000 - $30,000 depending upon experience.
