Position available: Senior Scientist Molecular Genetics

The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) is an international leader in agricultural research based at the Waite Research Precinct in Adelaide and undertakes research in five strategic research areas: Aquatic Sciences, Crops, Horticulture, Livestock and Sustainable Systems.

SARDI is a core partner in the Molecular Plant Breeding CRC (MPBCRC), one aim of which is the acquisition and/or development of new molecular technologies and using them to gain a better understanding of the genetics of wheat and barley traits with a focus on biotic and abiotic stresses and, in wheat, on end product quality. SARDI is seeking an experienced scientist with proven skills in molecular biology and genetics and with a good knowledge of plant breeding to manage the molecular aspects of projects in SARDI associated with the MPBCRC. The successful candidate will be someone who can initiate and manage new projects and collaborate closely with colleagues within the Molecular Genetics Laboratory of the University of Adelaide who share a common laboratory space.

You will have a PhD and proven track record in preparing and winning research grants, demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with funders, research collaborators and clients, and the capacity to achieve outcomes in a challenging environment.
