POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
DEPARTMENT: Plant Sciences, North Dakota State University
SALARY: Up to $35,000/year, commensurate with experience

DESCRIPTION: The Department of Plant Sciences, North Dakota State University, has available a postdoctoral research fellow position to conduct research on canola genetics and breeding. This individual will conduct lab, greenhouse and field tests to evaluate the genetics and agronomic performance of canola and work as a team member with other scientists to evaluate oil traits related to efficient production of biodiesel and other bioproducts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Ph.D. in plant breeding/genetics or a related subject; appropriate field and laboratory experience associated with breeding and genetics research; ability to initiate and accomplish research goals, including publication of results in refereed scientific journals. This position is available for at least 4 years with subsequent years contingent upon funding and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Experience/expertise with canola; good agronomic research skills, field technique skills; excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
