The Director, Molecular Breeding combines genomic and agronomic performance information to improve the efficiency of hybrid rice breeding by performing the following duties.  Manage genomic databases through gathering, storing, and integrating novel genetic submissions as they are sequenced and identified.  Develop and tests genetic markers for application to marker-assisted selection in parent line and hybrid rice development.  Perform computational biology analysis to examine the relationship of specific genetic profiles with agronomic field performance in order to support the hybrid rice breeding.  ...  The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in plant breeding, genetics, or related science field and ten years of related experience and/or training. The use of modern research tools, including but not limited to: genomics, marker-assisted selection, gene mapping, and application of innovative experimental designs, is expected.
