Department of Agriculture and Ecology wishes to appoint a post doc within molecular plant breeding from 1 November 2009 to 31 October 2011. The post doc*s duties will include research within characterization of enzymes involved in the biosynthesis and dephosphorylation of phytic acid and nutritional aspects of phytic acid in plant based food and feed. Candidate genes will be isolated from mutant lines, identified by TILLING or by synteni between plant genomes. The post may include teaching to a limited extent. The appointee should have qualifications within the following areas:
a) Heterologous expression of proteins The post is financed by Faculty of Life Sciences in connection with the chair in molecular plant breeding and it will contribute to the Strategic research project: http://www.ikorn.life.ku.dk on the low-phytate and protein component in cereal grains. Qualification requirements: In connection with the appointment to the post special importance will be attached to the applicant having the professional and personal qualifications stated below:
a) Documented scientific qualifications such as a Ph.D. or equivalent
in relation to the above subject area(s) The postdoc is also required to be enterprising and to possess good interpersonal skills. The post will be filled according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
