Postdoctoral Position - Wheat Genomics
Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. USA

Postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Plant Pathology at Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS). Wheat genomics laboratory is seeking for a highly motivated candidate to work on the projects utilizing standard linkage and association mapping, next-generation sequencing, expression profiling and comparative genomic analysis to map and characterize the genes and genomic regions of interest focusing on both applied and basic aspects of wheat biology and evolution. He or she will be involved in development of genomic resources for high-throughput SNP genotyping in wheat and utilizing genome-wide molecular variation for assessing the patterns of linkage disequilibrium and genetic diversity in wheat and developing resources for association mapping of important wheat traits. The candidate will have access to modern genomic technologies and instrumentation through the KSU Integrated Genomics Facility and have a chance to interact with vibrant KSU research programs in the areas of crop genetics and genomics, ecological genomics and population genetics.

Requirements:
Ph.D in molecular biology, genetics or other related disciplines with experience in plant genomics and excellent molecular biology skills. The candidate will have an excellent knowledge of experimental techniques and approaches used in molecular biology and genomics including: high-throughput genomics techniques (DNA isolation, sequencing, genotyping and expression analysis), molecular cloning, quantitative PCR and RT-PCR. Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environment. Knowledge of Windows and/or Unix based computer programs for the analysis of genetic and genomic data. Ability to perform statistical analyses using SAS and/or R packages would be a plus.

To apply, please submit a cover letter describing research experience and future goals, CV, and e-mail addresses and phone numbers of three references.
