Two Faculty Positions in the Atmospheric Stress and Biotic Stress Units of the Research Institute for Bioresources (RIB), Okayama University, Japan

RIB is seeking candidates for two FULL PROFESSOR positions, one in the Atmospheric Stress Unit [I], and the other in the Biotic Stress Unit [II]. Each contract will be for ten years, and could be extended after evaluation.

[I] The successful candidate for the Atmospheric Stress Unit position should have outstanding records in the field of plant stress science. The candidate is expected to study plant responses to abiotic stresses in the atmosphere (light, temperature, water, gasses, etc.), aiming for the elucidation of stress-resistance mechanisms.

[II] The candidate for the Biotic Stress Unit position should have excellent records in the field of plant biotic stress science. The candidate is expected to perform high-quality work on interactions between plants and other organisms (insects, microbes) from the perspective of the plant.

The responsibilities of both positions include teaching and supervision within the graduate school of Okayama University.

Both successful candidates should have a PhD degree and arrive at RIB before April 1, 2010.
