Description:
A
bioinformatics postdoctoral position is immediately available in the
Department of Plant Science at the University of California, Davis,
to work as part of the multiple-laboratory team on development of a
high-resolution radiation-hybrid map for wheat D genome. The research
project is funded by the Plant Genome Research Program of the
National Sciences Foundation (NSF) for 3 years. Specifically, the
incumbent will work with the bioinformatics team that manages the
GrainGenes database (
http://wheat.pw.usda.gov/).
The incumbent will be physically located at USDA-ARS, Western
Regional Research Center, Albany, CA, and responsible for developing
the project database and bioinformatics tools facilitating high
throughput mapping in polyploid wheat and comparative genomics. We
are looking for a highly motivated individual with demonstrated
ability to carry our research in wheat genomics. The successful
applicant will possess demonstrated skills in written and oral
communication. Salary is commensurate with experience and the
