Applications are invited for a WOMEN TENURE TRACK
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
position beginning in fiscal year 2013 (from
April, 2013 or later) at
the Institute of Plant Science and
Resources, Okayama University. The
tenure-track position is a
five-year appointment. The successful
candidate will be promoted
to Associate Professor according to the
examination criteria. The
successful candidate will join Group of
Genome Regulation led by
Professor
Maekawa
(http://www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp/pgm/index.html)
The
Group of Genome Regulation is studying the gene functional
analysis
using DNA transposon, nDart1, in rice and the genetic
factors
necessary for efficient crop production by introgression or
genomic
rearrangement from wild species. We are seeking candidates
who
shall conduct breeding research leading to advanced
genome
modifications that are applicable to breeding of major
crops, most
desirably rice. Because the Institute is affiliated
with the Graduate
School of Environmental and Life Science, the
successful candidate is
expected to conduct teaching and
supervision of graduate students at
Okayama
University.
