POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Vegetable Genetics/Genomics/Breeding

An academic professional, 12-month full-time postdoc research associate
position in cucumber genetics and genomics is available in Horticulture
Department of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The primary
responsibility of this position will be bioinformatics analysis of next
generation sequencing data of cucurbits for SNP discovery and array
development, SNP genotyping, genetic mapping, as well as comparative
genomics analysis.

Required qualifications include Ph.D. in plant biology,
genetics/genomics or related disciplines with demonstrated quality of
work and ability to design and conduct independent experiments;
effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work in
team-based collaborative environment. Preferred qualifications include
experience in bioinformatic analysis of next-generation genome
sequencing data in UNIX/Linux environments. The initial appointment is
for one year and continuing employment is contingent upon successful
performance and fund availability.
