GrainGenes ACEDB, Standalone: Local Installation


    The latest release of the GrainGenes ACEDB Database, for running on your own Windows95/NT, Unix, or Macintosh computer can be obtained by anonymous ftp from

    • www.graingenes.org, Ithaca NY, US, or
    • WWW GRAIN, Jouy-en-Josas, FR.
    The database is available in a full version and a "midsize" subset, differing only in how many Images they contain. Please refer to the file 0README for a description of the files available.

    New releases of GrainGenes are prepared daily (if there is any change), and are to be installed by completely replacing any previous release.

    For those who wish to maintain a copy of GrainGenes by incremental updating, the software package Mirror can be downloaded. The package includes instructions for automatically mirroring the anonymous ftp directory graingenes.current, which is updated daily.
