Selecting Chromosomes
After selecting the "Map" class you will see the maps currently generated for the project. The current map list contains the deletion series for Triticum aestivum cv. Chinese Spring. Within each Map class you will find Probe assignments to a Locus which in turn corresponds to a deletion bin. The probes are given Locus class assignments and are associated with a "bin" on the map. For now, each "bin" has been given a Locus assignment to cluster the Probe and its Locus to an individual bin. Each map corresponds to the respective chromosomes (1 through 7) with the appropriate genome designation (A, B, or D). The initial listing "Chinese_Spring_Deletion_" seen in the list is not really a "Map", but contains Locus assignments which have not been mapped. Since each hybridizing band seen in the deletion mapping autoradiographs may be potentially mapped, they are given Locus assignments; and if after evaluation, a bin assignment cannot be made, they are placed in the "Chinese_Spring_Deletion_" Map class.
