Research Specialist in Soybean Genetics at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri

A Research Specialist position is available in the Soybean Genetics and Genomics Laboratory at the University of Missouri.

The primary responsibility of this position will be
(1) planting and maintenance of field and greenhouse experiments,
(2) management of soybean genetic populations and seed stocks, and
(3) assistance in laboratory analysis of soybean seed composition.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a detailed laboratory notebook to record all experimental data information. Other duties will include supervision of undergraduate students and help with the daily operation of the lab. Applicants should have a B.S. degree in biology, plant science, or a closely related degree. Candidates with an advanced degree (M.S.) and field research experience are preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research environment are essential.
