A biological technician is available in the Winter Wheat Genetics Research Unit, USDA-ARS, located on the campus of Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. The technician will work both in the greenhouse and laboratory on projects related to wheat - Hessian fly interactions.
Requirements: A master’s degree or equivalent in Entomology, Plant genetics, Molecular biology, or other related disciplines. The candidate will have knowledge of basic plant - insect interactions and molecular genetics. Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, protein purification, expression analysis is desirable. Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of basic Windows and/or Unix based computer programs for the analysis of genetic and genomic data. Ability to perform statistical analyses using SAS and/or R packages would be a plus.
