    Dear Dr Matthews,

After reading the recent mail of Nils Stein, following questions about
UNI-EST-SSRs come to mind. Do you or Nils have answers to these questions.

(1( Do we have a lab-wise list of these UNI-SSRs, along with the nature of
work being conducted in each lab?; if not can we make an effort to collect
    this information?

    (2) Do we have a list of UNI-EST-SSRs, that are not being used by any lab;
if we have such a list, can these be assigned to labs for a collaborative
    activity? ...

    Respected Sir,

I am of your opinion regarding the collaborative activity on Uni-EST-SSR
even across the genera. As we mentioned in our message at EST-SSR webpage
and Nils also wrote about the same in his a recent mail that we will be
    interested in mapping interspecies (wheat/barley/rye/rice..)
Uni-EST-SSRs...we are still looking forward to hear from the researchers
involved in such efforts whether they will like to collaborate on the same..

Regarding your specific question about the listing of Uni-EST-SSRs and the
nature of work in which different labs are involved, Dave/ Nils may answer
the same. But we (our lab, besides Mark Sorrells' lab) can certainly define
such set of Uni-EST-SSRs from the available public ESTs from different
cereal species.....and that may be distributed to different labs for
mapping/other works as you also suggested so..

    Thanking you.

    With best regards,

    Rajeev
