Phenotype
Affects flowering time (heading date) in response to daylength. In a glasshouse test of DH lines derived from an Igri x Triumph cross, those with the Triumph allele flowered 17.1 days earlier than lines with the Igri allele under short daylength (10h); however, there was no difference between allele classes at longer daylengths (13 or 16h). In modelling of data from field experiments, lines bearing the Triumph allele flowered earlier than lines bearing the Igri allele (by 3.4d in autumn-sown plants, but by only 0.7d in spring-sown plants) (1).
