Comment
A vernalization gene that affects flowering time (heading date) in unvernalized plants but not in vernalized plants. Effect of Sh is masked by presence of spring-type allele at the Sh2 locus. Model fitting of field data revealed a significant but small effect of Sh in both autumn-sown and spring-sown plants (1).
