Comment
It has been estimated that alpha-Amy-B1 contains five or six genes (646).
The 'alleles' described in (761) are assumed in (5) to be synonymous with the alleles alpha-Amy-B1a through alpha-Amy-B1h and are listed as such in the Catalogue of Gene Symbols for Wheat (9441).
Amy 4 and Amy 4' are unmapped alternatives (761) which appear to be identical to zymogram bands [bands 9 and 9b (5)] forming part of the alpha-Amy-B1 phenotype. Amy 6B1 [with forms Amy 6B1^o^, and Amy 6B1^4'^, considered to be mutually exclusive (761)] and Amy 6B2 [with forms Amy 6B2 and Amy 6B2^o^ (761)] describe further aspects of alpha-Amy-B1 (5). See alpha-Amy1 for further consideration of Amy 6B2 (761).
