Ninety one doubled haploid lines produced from F1 hybrids of Wuhan-1 x Maringa made up the mapping and field study populations. 600 microsatellite markers were screened and maps were constructed using MAPMAKER 2.0, with a minimum LOD of 3.0 and maximum recombination fraction of 0.35. The 'compare' and 'ripple' commands were used to assemble the marker order in the final maps.
SAS systems for Microsoft Windows 8.01 performed the ANOVA. Homogeneity of error variances were tested using Bartlett's test at p = 0.05. Other statistical analysis was done using Microsoft Excel 7.0. QTL analysis used the composite interval mapping function of QTL Cartographer 1.16 (http://statgen.ncsu.edu) on yearly averages and the grand average from both years.
This is the first report of QTLs for FHB field resistance on chromosome 4B and near the centromere of 3BS
Loci with an 'Error = 1' value were mapped via consensus using the Synthetic x 'Opata' (ITMI) reference population
