An improved SNP-based consensus genetic map developed from genotyping 1,133 individuals belonging to 10 mapping populations. The map contains 2,994 SNP loci in 1,163 marker bins (unique loci) and spans 1,137 cM. The position of 2,545 SNP-mapped loci has been confirmed by gene mapping using flow-sorted chromosome and arms, which also delineated peri-centromeric regions for chromosomes 2H-7H. Marker order has improved and map resolution has increased by almost 20 percent respect to the previous Close et al. (2009) consensus genetic map.
