Abstract
Several variant offspring with different seed colours such as white, purple and black were found from introducing Chinese sorghum DNA into common wheat Jihe 916 through the pollen tube pathway. The result of nutritional qualitative analysis indicated that the contents of protein, amino acids, mineral elements and solute sugar in variant offspring were higher than in the receptor Jihe 916. It was concluded that they had some value for utilization. RAPD and seed gliadin electrophoresis showed that exogenous DNA was conformed to be integrated into receptor's genome
