Abstract
A field experiment was conducted in Qom, Iran, during 1999/2000 and 2000/01 to study the Zn use efficiency in bread wheat ( Triticum aestivum ) cultivars Rushan, Kavir, Cross and Falat and in T. durum cv. Dur-3. Zn was applied at 0 and 40 kg/ha. Significant variation among the cultivars based on grain yield, straw yield, Zn use efficiency and yield components. Based on grain yield and Zn use efficiency for 2 years, Cross was the most efficient and Dur-3 was the most inefficient, while Kavir, Falat and Rushan were intermediate. Zn concentration and uptake were higher in Cross, while these values were lowest in Dur-3
