II.32 Telotrisomic analysis of 14 marker genes on chromosome 1, 2 and 4.

T. Tsuchiya. Agronomy Department, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado 80521, U.S.A.

Telosomic trisomics for Telo 1L, 1S, 2L and 4A were crossed with genetic marker stocks with the purpose of locating the centromere position in relation to the marker genes on the map. The results are shown in Table 1.

Table 1. Summary of the results of telotrisomic analysis of 14 marker genes.

These results suggest that the proposed centromere position (Robertson, 1971, Proc. 2nd Intern. Barley Gent. Symp.) for chromosomes 1 and 2 is approximately correct. However, the proposed centromere position of chromosome 4 has not been definitely confirmed for these results. Extensive analysis is now under way to delimit the centromere position of chromosome 4 as well as other chromosomes.

Reports II.29 (P. 58) through II.39 (P. 66) by T. Tsuchiya and coworkers are based on the results of researches supported partly by NSF Research Grant GB 4482 X.
