IV. 8. Coordinator's Report: Chromosome 7.

George Fedak, Ottawa Research Station, Agriculture Canada, Ottawa, Ontario K1A OC6, Canada.

Several refinements to the gene map of chromosome 7 were presented at the Fourth International Barley Genetics Symposium in Edinburgh in July 1981. T. Tsuchiya announced that a multiple marker stock containing the genes fs, va, and fs, wst2 were available for chromosome 7. J. Jensen described a map estimation procedure for improving the status of existing linkage maps. By this means 11 loci were added to the linkage map of chromosome 7 to give a total of 20 loci, mainly on the short arm and covering a map length of 110 centimorgans.
