Inheritance:

Partially dominant over normal (14).

Description:

Spike internodes about 24% longer than normal.
Few tillers per plant, curly awns, semi-sterile spikes and thin, angular grain (13).

Origin of mutant:

1958 after resting Bonus seed treated with ethyleneoxide: 0.2% x 10 hours.

Mutational events: (3, 4)

lax-j²⁹,-j³³,-j⁴⁹.

Mutant used for description and seed stock:

lax-j⁴⁹ in Bonus.
