Inheritance:
Probably recessive to normal.
Semi-sterile heterozygotes indicating presence of translocation (14).
Description:
Spike internodes about normal when the mutant is sown at normal plant density. Somewhat stronger than normal lax response when sown at low density (13, 16).
Relatively early maturing plants with the early spikes more lax than the late ones (13).
Origin of mutant:
1961 after resting Foma seed treated with propy1methanesulfonate: 1.0% x 24 hours.

lax-if246 in Foma.
