A new ditelotetrasomic plant was obtained for telocentric chromosome
4S (telo 4S) in the progeny of a cross between telotrisomic 4S x iV.
Fifteen crossed seeds germinated giving the following results: 12 (2n=14),
2 (2n+1 telocentric) and 1 (2n=14 + 2 telocentric). From the morphological
traits it was assumed that one monotelotrisomic and the ditelotetrasomic
plants were derived from selfed seeds. These two plants were used in this
study. The ditelotetrasomic plant showed emphasized expression of diagnostic
traits of the monotelotrisomic plant for telo 4S. The morphological measurements
of the ditelotetrasomic plant together with the monotelotrisomic plant
are presented in Table 1.

From the table it appears that the ditelotetrasomic plant is less vigorous
than montelotrisomic plants. The seed fertility of the ditelotetrasomic
plant was very low.
