The Barley Genetic Stock Center in Fort Collins, Colorado, U.S.A has
established a policy for the collection and maintenance of barley genetic
A. The stocks to be collected, maintained at and distributed from the
Barley Genetic Stock Center in Fort Collins, Colorado are as follows:
1. Mutants for genes located in the linkage map or associated with chromosomes.
2. Mutants for genes for which allelism testing with previously designated
genes for similar or the same type traits is completed.
3. Multiple marker stocks which possess 2 or more marker genes for each
of the 14 arms of barley chromosomes.
B. Multiple marker stocks which are just a collection from F2 and/or
F3 segregants and have several genes from various chromosomes or chromosome
arms are not collected nor maintained at the Stock Center in Fort Collins.
These stocks will be listed in the Barley Genetics Newsletter provided
the worker who established the stock(s) intends to maintain and distribute
them to other workers. Information regarding these stocks should be sent
to the editors of the Barley Genetics Newsletter. The worker(s) who maintain
those multiple stocks are requested to prepare an annual report for the
Barley Genetics Newsletter.
