This notice was sent to all European barley workers listed in BGN. Vol. 1 at the request of E. Schwarzbach.

Dear Sir,

In the "Barley Genetics Newsletter" (1) a harmful mistake occurred in the paper of Nover & Schwarzbach, on Page 36, which perhaps might cause political difficulties for Ilse Nover, as she does not live or work in West Germany. Her address is as follows:

Dr. Ilse Nover
Lehrstuhl f. Phytopathologie u Pflanzenschutz
der Martin Luther Universitat
401 Halle, D D R.

May be, the localities "Halle" and "Weihenstephan", given in parentheses in the manuscript, have been overlooked. I would be very indebted to you, if you could send at least to the European barley workers, notice in the mailing list, a correction with the right address of Dr. Ilse Nover and her institute in the mentioned paper and mailing list.

Thanking you for your courtesy.

E. Schwarzbach (Signed)

The lack of country designation on letters and manuscripts to the Editors caused quite a bit of trouble in both time and mailing costs.

Editors strongly urge that authors of papers put the name of the country clearly following the name of institution.
