BGN 29: BGS 594, Anthocyanin-deficient 3, ant3

BGS 594, Anthocyanin-deficient 3, ant3

Stock number: BGS 594
Locus name: Anthocyanin-deficient 3
Locus symbol: ant3

Previous nomenclature and symbolization:

Exrubrum = rub (1).
Inheritance:
Monofactorial recessive (3).
Location is unknown.
Description:
There is no anthocyanin pigmentation in the vegetative parts of the mutant plants except for the lemmas. A slight anthocyanin pigmentation has been observed in the lemmas of the mutant grains. All three mutant alleles have short stems and are late in development compared to the mother varieties (2, 4).
Origin of mutant:
A neutron induced mutant in Bonus (PI 189763) (2).
Mutational events:
ant3.5, 3.8 (NGB 114557) in Bonus (2, 4); ant3.39 (NGB 114594) in Kristina (2, 4).
Mutant used for description and seed stock:
ant3.5 in Bonus (NGB 114556, GSHO 1641).
