The ITMI office has moved

Scottish Crop Research Institute, Invergowrie, Dundee, DD2 5DA, Scotland, UK

The management office of the International Triticeae Mapping Initiative (ITMI) has moved from the University of California, Davis, USA to the Scottish Crop Research Institute, Dundee, Scotland, UK. The decision to relocate was taken at the annual ITMI Workshop in San Diego, USA in January 2001 and coincides with changing objectives. The original goal of RFLP mapping in the Triticeae has been superseded by recent developments in genetics. The new structure will reflect these changes and will be theme orientated.

ITMI will continue to have two annual events for scientific presentation, reporting and planning. The annual ITMI meeting at the International Plant and Animal Genome Conference will continue.

The new management office is co-ordinated at SCRI by Prof. Wayne Powell with the assistance of Ms. Dianne Beharrie and Dr. Brian Forster. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous management team, particularly, Prof. Calvin Qualset and Prof. Patrick McGuire, for their hard work in sustaining and developing ITMI.
